Naming a baby is difficult for some. You may love a certain name that your partner might seriously dislike. You are not alone in this situation! While pregnant my hubby and I would text names back and forth. Most of the texts would end with "I love you...but NO we cannot name our daughter that." I never knew deciding on a name would ever pose such a challenge. With so many pretty names, my husband and I took almost a week after our baby was born to decide. Luckily, the day we left the hospital we came to a sweet conclusion. Ah! What a relief it was to finally have her name set in stone.
Recently, after talking with many pregnant women I realized I wasn't alone in the search of the "perfect" name. Every couple is looking for a "uniquely perfect" baby name. After looking through names (not because I'm pregnant) I discovered so many fun and clever names. Every Thursday come check my blog for "Baby Names Thursday." The list will include names used in the United States that are not ranked in the top 1000 (according to the Social Security Administration). I will also include tips and tricks to help with the naming process. If you have any tips on choosing a name please share and help others :)
Remember everyone is different with names they like and dislike. Even though I'm posting a wide variety of names, doesn't mean I love every single one ;) The list is simply for inspiration. I will also use names from all backgrounds to help you track down the perfectly unique name for your baby.

Saying G'day from the Say G'day Saturday Link Party. I have triplet boys and when I was pregnant with them I knew that I wanted names with meaning. My parents and husband are from Nigeria and this is something that is very important, when you tell people your name they will almost always ask you what it means. Each of my boys has a name from my husband's families' tribe (given my his parents), one from mine (given by my mum) and one biblical. The meaning of each name relates to the circumstances at the time and shows how blessed we feel to have had these boys. In particular the biblical names were taken from a book given to me by a friend 'All The Men In The Bible', which also gives definitions for each name.

DeleteThose are definitely interesting names! My husband and I had so much trouble agreeing on our son's name. We had it down to two names - one from my side of the family and one from his side of the family. We ended up going with the name from my side, but if we have another boy some day I think he'll really want the name from his side. I love the idea of it, but not the actual name! ha ha! So hard to decide!

DeleteMy husband and I agreed pretty much on all the names we thought of, luckily! We knew we wanted Italian names (our last name is Italian and his dad's side of the family is Italian), so that narrowed it down quite a bit. We both still love our girls' names. I see Giulia up there, and we both loved that one, but decided against it since his niece's name is Juliana and I don't think many people would know how to pronounce it! Fun idea, Tiffany!
